Visualization of CHR through Source-to-Source Transformation
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we propose an extension of Constraint Handling Rules (CHR) with different visualization features. One feature is to visualize the execution of rules applied on a list of constraints. The second feature is to represent some of the CHR constraints as objects and visualize the effect of CHR rules on them. To avoid changing the compiler, our implementation is based on source-to-source transformation. 1998 ACM Subject Classification I.2.2 Automatic Programming, D.3.2 Language Classifications

CHRAnimation: An Animation Tool for Constraint Handling Rules
Visualization tools of different languages offer its users with a needed set of features allowing them to animate how programs of such languages work. Constraint Handling Rules (CHR) is currently used as a general purpose language. This results in having complex programs with CHR. Nevertheless, CHR is still lacking on visualization tools. With Constraint Handling Rules (CHR) being a high-level ...
متن کاملVisualization of Constraint Handling Rules
Constraint Handling Rules (CHR) has matured into a general purpose language over the past two decades. Any general purpose language requires its own development tools. Visualization tools, in particular, facilitate many tasks for programmers as well as beginners to the language. The article presents on-going work towards the visualization of CHR programs. The process is done through source-to-s...
متن کاملCHR Exhaustive Execution - Revisited
Constraint Handling Rules (CHR) apply guarded rules to rewrite constraints in a constraint store, until a final state is reached in which no more rules are applicable. The rules cannot be retracted, therefore CHR does not backtrack over alternatives. In this paper, a novel source-to-source transformation is proposed, which transforms any given CHR program to one that backtracks over all possibl...
متن کاملGuard Simplification in CHR programs
Constraint Handling Rules (CHR) is a high-level language commonly used to write constraint solvers. Most CHR programs depend on the refined operational semantics, resulting in an obfuscated logical reading and non-termination or worse under the theoretical operational semantics. We introduce a source to source transformation called guard simplification which allows CHR programmers to write self...
متن کاملAggregates for CHR through Program Transformation
We propose an extension of Constraint Handling Rules (CHR) with aggregates such as sum, count, findall, and min. This new feature significantly improves the conciseness and expressiveness of the language. In this paper, we describe an implementation based on source-to-source transformations to CHR (extended with some low-level compiler directives). We allow user-defined aggregates and nested ag...
